Notes on New FiT Rules in Germany



FiT Notes

-A maximum of 80% of the electricity produced by a rooftop PV plant below 10 kW will qualify for the FiT
-A maximum of 90% of the electricity produced by a rooftop PV plant between 10 kW and 1000 kW will qualify for the FiT

-Installation Corridor 2012: 2500 - 3500 MW
-Installation Corridor 2013: 2100 - 3100 MW
-Installation Corridor 2014: 1700 - 2700 MW
-Installation Corridor 2015: 1300 - 2300 MW
-Installation Corridor 2016: 900 - 1900 MW

-Plants may be bigger than 10 megawatts but only the portion up to 10 MW is funded

-2012:May, June, July, August, September & October degressions will be fixed at 1%

-Starting in November the degressions take place in three month long segments. The segments are: November to January, February to April, May to July and August to October

- The degressions in each three month strecth will be based on installation statistics over the last 3, 6 or 9 months prorated to a full year.

-November, December and January degressions will be based on July, August & September installations multiplied by 4

-2013:February, March and April degressions will be based on July to December installations multiplied by 2

-2013:May, June and July degressions will be based on July to March installations multiplied by 1.33

-Degressions past July of 2013 will be based on installations in the trailing 12 months. i.e. The quarterly degressions starting in August will be based on installations from July of the previous year through June of the current year
